oettinger head counting

ok it s something that been done on the french website

I thought it would be great to add on our heads

you will find the number of your head on the lump to fit the alternator bracket

when the complete engine were built the engine block, cylinder head, and the head cover were numbered

if it was the head it will be numbered too with the cam cover

Where is the number on the block?

the block number
is in front off the block on the fly wheel side
just below the the distributor mounting screw

hello im carbreaker from the netherlands and prowd owner of a 16 s oettinger its in pieces at the moment,

head no is 767 and my shortblock is no 415
its a 2 ltr with the modified long stroke steel crankshaft,and modified sump
i also bought a flatslide manifold, that original worked with kugelfisher injection,,
my plans ...rebuild the engine this year fitt it with dta and fitt it in one of my mk 1 s [img][/img]

My cam cover and cylinder head both have #465 stamped on them! Not sure about the complete engine number yet?
