My GTI & Engine 2000 E/16 (build up)

Hello again,

so i will start here to post my "build up" and
post pictures. (When i have time, i give my best)

Oettinger Engine is from a 1981 Golf GTI which i buyed in Germany for few years ago.
The body i sold to a friend, which build it up whith a G60 engine.

My actually car is a 1983 GTI which i build up in 1998, when i was 18years old (!)
so today i would do many things different,
but ok, know i have more experience than for 13years

Car facts:
GTI 1983
colour is a org. VW "ocean blue metallic"
(not org. GTI)
7,5 x 15 ACT-Ronal with 195/45/15 Yokohama
Supersprint Group A complete
and of course an 1,8 DX engine

Engine to build up:
OE 2000 E/16 based on EG "H" Block
94,5 mm crankshaft (right writing??)
pistons 81,97 mm
K-Jetronic and of course head with one oil bored.
normaly 272° cames.

so stop for today, it´s going on here as fast as possible...

First, is the engine, how i get it and put it out from the car.

Congratulations on your project......very nice car and color combination!

You will have a 1996cc with that Oettinger crank and piston diameter.....lot's of low end torque.

What are you using for a gearbox?

Yes i hope i will have a lot's of low end torque,
It's very different to an 1,6 with lot of rpm and shorter
Piston stroke travel, a other torque Speed characteristic.

But both of them are interesting.

I will build in a long 020 "FF" gear box with or without the oettinger
wide gear ratio 3,48:1

Hello again,

so after a bad crash with my motorbike, i had a long break in october, so i repaired first my KTM Superduke and the engine was still waiting...

But now here a pictures from dismantling the engine and pieces...

(For testing "soda" )





so,there where no damaged pieces till know,
in the next weeks i will clear all parts and go to next step...
